Anne Marie

Pop artist Anne Marie.

For this new up and coming artist, Anne Marie already has vastly made a name for herself in the mainstream of Pop Music. She already has a certified Gold record under her belt, she was nominated for Dance Song of the Year at the iHeart Radio Music Awards in 2018 working after collaborating with artist Sean Paul on his song “Rockabye”, and Marie has even been called the golden girl of British Pop music. Her artistry is soulful, dance Pop and falls under the similar lines of Jojo & Ariana Grande.

Which brings us to her newest record, Therapy. Marie’s Sophomore effort released July 23rd, where she worked on the majority of the album during the wake of last year’s COVID pandemic. Anne Marie quotes (from BangShowBiz) from the project, “…Music is therapy to everyone. It helps us through hard times. If we feel alone, if we feel like we need to let loose… it’s always there for us”. She adds from another article, “I felt like everything I learned from the first album, I put into the second, and I had so much fun!”.

Anne Marie collaborated with British Pop girl group Little Mix (“Kiss My Uh Oh”), and One Direction’s Niall Horan (“Our Song”) on Therapy as well. One of my personal favorite songs off her record so far, is “Beautiful”, which talks about acknowledging the beauty within ourselves: “Are we all beautiful? All of us / ‘Cause we’ve got something natural / When they put you down / You can fire right back…”. In my opinion, it’s a song that can relate to both men & women, sort of in the retrospect of seeing how beautiful and precious life is.

The record has a broad mixture of both glossy Pop, a revenge banger or two, and posi-Pop (which in-depth means positivity Pop) ballads.

Therapy is available everywhere today music is streamed.
