A Backstreet Christmas

For the Backstreet Boys, these guys are constantly evolving and changing their artistry to adapt in the landscape of Pop. From classic “bubble gum” Pop of the 90’s, (“Get Down, Your the One for Me” 1996), to a soft-Rock vibe (“Inconsolable” 2005), to mysterious (“Everybody: Backstreet’s Back” 1997), to slam dunk comebacks (“Show ‘Em: What You’re Made Of” 2013), amongst countless of other hits… These guys are well on their way to achieving Rolling Stones status. After over 130 million album sales, amongst other countless awards & nominations, BSB has rightfully been named “best selling boy group in history”.

But let’s speed up to their newly released LP A Very Backstreet Christmas on October 14. The band decided to wait much later on in their career as a group to release a holiday album, which sometimes I think is a little better because it makes the artists music that more appealing. That’s why your scrolling.

A Very Backstreet Christmas may most likely be right up there with their “rivals” former classic 1998 holiday album NSYNC’s Home For Christmas… Ha. It’s that good, y’all. This album has a mixture of a little bit of both cover tracks and holiday staples. Between all five guys, AJ McLean, Howie Dorough, Brian Littrell, Kevin Richardson, & Nick Carter — they each penned the original tracks (“Happy Days”, “Together”, & “Christmas In New York”).

In a recent interview about one of the songs “Happy Days”, member AJ spoke with article Variety, saying “…We just wanted to write a happy, uplifting song that had the same feel. Especially the way with the world is right now. It was, ‘Let’s put some positive stuff out there’, so we wrote ‘Happy Days’”. McLean goes onto say about A Very Backstreet Christmas, “This is Backstreet in its truest form… It’s the best we’ve sounded as a group in years”.

In conclusion, the Backstreet Boys will be staying around for a lot longer, as their sound continues to mature and elevate as the years pass. And this record is the perfect one to get you and your family into the holiday spirit!
