No One Like Ed Sheeran

Pop Singer/Songwriter Ed Sheeran.

There’s no one quote like the astounding and immensely talented Ed Sheeran. His music has really grown on me, ever since he burst onto the scene over a decade ago with hits like “The A Team” and “Give Me Love”, back in the early 2010’s. Not only can he write songs like no other songwriter I’ve ever heard, but I think what musically sets him a part, is he strives to be creative in whatever aspect musically he can be; and with that he can play almost any instrument, but mostly, the cello, piano, guitar, and bass and the drums.

Which speeds us to up his upcoming release of his Sixth studio album – (Subtract). The album releases on May 5th, and is the final installment of mathematical series of albums released from Ed over the years. The focus for this record will be mostly on overcoming anxiety, depression, and loneliness but still have a limelight of energy and hope mixed in. The acoustic record was produced by Aaron Dessner (Taylor Swift) that will help explore contents of his personal life. The record is a big return to his roots as a singer/songwriter after the last couple albums of heavily Dance/Pop influences on = (Equals).

In an interview with music magazine Rolling Stones, Sheeran further explains about the album, “I wrote without thought of what the songs would be, I just wrote whatever tumbled out,” Ed said. “And in just over a week”, he added, “I replaced a decade’s worth of work with my deepest darkest thoughts”.

All in all, the – (Subtract) is an exciting album on its way and fun dance bops, but at the same time a great one that will pull at your heart strings and really make you think of what truly matters in this life, and that’s always love and family. By the way, Ed is signed with Asylum Atlantic Records, and the record was also produced by Max Martin Shellback & Fred Again. The album is out everywhere May 5th!
