Nobody Like Noah

From small town life as a construction worker to now full-fledged Country star, Noah Thompson has come a long, long way — previously not having had any performing experience, and being signed up by a close friend — and, this country boy pays it all to his American Idol roots. After winning Season 20 last year of the longtime comeback ABC singing reality-competition, Noah signed with Idol contract 19 Recordings/BMG Nashville, (next to his Season 20 Runner-up Huntergirl).

Country Music is a huge love in America, and to me, ABC’s American Idol has done an amazing job (along with other copy cat shows like NBC’s The Voice) of cranking out some serious Nashville talent — ever since Carrie Underwood’s Idol win 18 years earlier — alongside the likes of former Idols Scotty McCreery, Kellie Pickler, Kree Harrison, and Bucky Covington, to name a few among many.

But, Noah brings something so authentic and very different to the Nashville scene, while still maintaining a relevant Country sound. Popular network CMT (Country Music Televison) recently quotes of his artistry, “The way the Kentucky native intertwined his traditional country sound with the smooth R&B instrumentals proves that he’s a music risk-taker not afraid to push boundaries.” His coronation Idol-winning song “One Day Tonight” instantly became a sensation, shooting straight to #1 on the Apple Music iTunes Country charts. And to add, it’s a great song for anytime of the year, mainly because of it’s dance, party feel. In an interview via social media, Thompson says, “My life has changed so much in a short amount of time, and it’s all because of you guys, can’t thank you enough…”.

In fact, with this fresh EP, Noah even debuts his first-time songwriting abilities as an artist on two songs, “Us No More” and the title track “Middle of God Knows Where”. He quotes of the EP, “I named the EP “Middle of God Knows Where” because, I felt the title track is the heart of this project and one of the first I ever co-wrote that I felt was me. I’m so excited for fans to hear it”. Both songs talk of heartbreak; as “Us No More” talks about the aftermath emotions of when your “ex” leaves, and “Middle of God Knows Where” touches on the hard truth to typical gossip rumor-mill that occurs after.

The album was produced by Jimmy Robbins and Eric Arjes, and is just an anticipated appetizer of more to come from Thompson! Not much else is said about the forthcoming album, other than the track list and the writers on the EP, but this Kentucky native is one to watch from here on out for sure.
