Alyssa Micaela, Y’all

If you were into badass Country women in the early 2000’s like Gretchen Wilson or Miranda, then you will fall in love with new girl Alyssa Micaela. She is another proud Texan-native, and began writing songs at 15, where she later moved to Nashville and signed a music publishing deal with family friend label Liz Rose Music publishing. Alyssa calls herself “Classy, sassy, and a little smart-assy”; as Micaela’s personality has always lead with spit fire, ambition, & authenticity. She began writing songs at 15 with her close family friend Liz Rose, whom saw star potential in her from the very beginning. Ironically, Rose even helped steward new talent Taylor Swift when she was starting out two decades ago, as well.

Alyssa’s debut The Hard Way released across all music platforms on April 28th, 2023. The title track “The Hard Way” gives an overall feel for the rest of the layout of the album. The lyrics create them to stand out individually to impact, yet still allow the chorus to fly. She even has a duet on this record with Country Music veteran Eric Paslay on “Mad Love”.

The album is candid, yes, but it also offers a lot of fun along the way as well. “There’s a few songs on there that tug at your heart a little bit… it’s a pretty well rounded album”, Micaela shares. Also, in interview with American Songwriter, Alyssa adds, “The goal was for people to feel like we could be friends. I wanted the album to be, when you listen to it, for when you’re pre-gaming or on a road trip — it’s gonna make you have a damn good time!”. With this album, Alyssa knows right away who she wants to be as a Country artist.

The Hard Way was produced by Corey Crowder (Chris Young): Writers also on the album, next to Rose, were Maddie Larkin & Lauren McLamb. Some of my personal early favorites are, “If Texas Had a Heart”, “The Hard Way”, “Daddy’s Daughter”, “Lose My Cool”, and “Girls Like Me” to name a few. In her newfound sound, Alyssa Micaela’s artistry reminds me a lot of Megan Moroney or Lauren Alaina.

Overall, this girl is a spit fire and is here to stay for the longhaul. So pick up a copy or go and download a copy of The Hard Way today!
