The definition of “noteworthy” stands for being significant or attracting attention, and Niall Horan is indeed an artist who attracts the right attention with his engaging Pop music. He’s come a long, long way since his fresh boy-band days as a once former member of One Direction; (and once upon a time getting his start on the “reality-singing competition train” like so many others, with popular former shows like The X Factor) for nationwide recognition.

Already three successful albums in, Flicker (2017), Heartbreak Weather (2020) and now 2023’s The Show, there is without a doubt that Horan is building a strong, mature, and respectable repertoire of songs for his fans to dance along to for years to come — and might I add he’s an amazing songwriter, as well. Horan’s most notable and memorable one, so far, is “Slow Hands”, which anyone of any age can throughly enjoy. Ever since the nationwide pandemic over three years ago, Pop artists like Niall Horan are the kind of artists that not only know who they are and how to bring people together, but whose definition of Pop music is sincerely connecting with people of all ages, and not necessarily to only one demographic of his growing fanbase.

Signed to major label Capitol Records (Katy Perry, Neil Diamond), Niall released his third-successful installment The Show on June 9th, 2023 across all music platforms. To a music source, Niall spoke of his dedicated work on the album, “This album is a piece of work I’m so proud of, and now it’s time it over to you [the fans] to go and make it your own”.

Producers and co writers for the album were John Ryan, Joel Little, and Tobias Jesso, Jr. Hit lead-single for the record, “Heaven”, comes from a more literal perspective of love, and talking about how precious things in life are with your special someone. The lyrics talk about how crucial and important it is to live in the present moment. Music critics praise Horan’s abilities as well, saying “…he is the voice of ‘soul, warmth, & charm’. Horan wrote the majority of the songs, as many artists do, on his piano and his guitar.

As this brunette guitar-strummer is quickly approaching 30, The Show is a wonderful expression and representation of both his growth as a young man, as well as his maturity beyond-his-years, as now a solo musician. You can indeed say that Horan is soaring high — his last album Heartbreak Weather debuted a top, both, the Irish Albums Charts & UK Albums Charts. So, there’s a lot of hope for The Show as the world and fan embrace the album.
