Run on, Riley Green

Mainstream Country multiplatinum recording artist Riley Green.

It’s his down home roots from Alabama that has kept him Country as ever, carrying a more traditional, yet still modern sound amongst a highly-conservative genre that is now being embraced as a sub-genre and cross-genre. Being an Alabama boy growing, he was surrounded by music, and owes much of his musical, appreciation, education, and inspiration to his Grandaddy Buford. Riley Green broke onto the scene 2019 with lead-freshman single “There Was This Girl” , followed by his debut major Different ‘Round Here with Big Machine Label Group/ BMLG. The album was an instant success alongside breakout hits “In Love By Now” and “I Wish Grandpas Never Died”; sky rocketing with certified Gold status. So, run on Riley Green.

Just a month ago, Green released is second full length project Ain’t My Last Rodeo, on October 13th across all streaming platforms. He spoke with Country music article Taste of Country, about the album saying, “This is really the first time I was able to really take my time, write and record songs that really felt like a cohesive album—I’m really proud of it and want to thank the fans for all of their encouragement—I hope y’all enjoy it.”

Ain’t My Last Rodeo is currently climbing up the music charts, with his popular single “My Last Rodeo” and his familiar hit from his first album “Different ‘Round Here” of the same name, now a duet with superstar Luke Combs. This album has a lot of colorful favorites for me, such as “Damn Country Music” (a cover remake of Tim McGraw’s song of the same name), “Ain’t Like I Can’t Hide It”, “Raised Up Right”, “Copenhagen in a Cadillac” (featuring newcomer Jelly Roll), “Workin’ On Me”, among the impressive 12-track layout of the album.

Co-writers on the record were • Cowriters on the album are Tyler Reeve , Josh Thompson (“Mississippi Or Me”), Bobby Pinson , Riley Green (“Ain’t Like I Can Hide It”), Corey Barlowe, Jessi Alexander (“Damn Country Music”). In sync with the writing process, the record was produced and co-produced by Ross Copperman, Dann Huff (Faith Hill, Lonestar), Frank Rogers, Scott Borchetta (Taylor Swift, Tim McGraw, Reba McEntire).

In conclusion, Green adds about his inspiration behind the title of the record, “Ain’t My Last Rodeo is inspired by what I know best: hard work, life outdoors, and family, and it’s going to be fun adding these new songs to our full set. I’ve been a fan of Tracy Lawrence since I was a kid so I’m looking forward to having him out with us and watching the fans singing along to all his hits. I also really love what Ella Langley is doing –it’s going to be a great time all around.”

Finally, he owes his love for the outdoors to Granddaddy Buford, heard in his song “Mississippi or Me”. Overall, this album is one to check out or download, as it’s already one of my latter facoeite albums of 2023.
